Season 3, Episode 69: Back to School Night: Pandemic Edition

Back to school night one of the most time honored traditions in all of teaching, but it’s also one of the most nerve-wracking moments for many any an educator knowing that they’ve only got one chance to make a first impression. This week’s podcast brings the traditional event into new light due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and offers up a handful of strategies (and a fair bit of positive self talk!) to help you maximize your virtual face-to-face with so many grown ups on a single teleconference. The good news: back to school night doesn’t have to be anything fancy! Just an honest opportunity to let folks know who you are and how you’re here to support their students.

Recorded in bumper-to-bumper traffic to and from my daily work as a high school instructional coach just outside of Washington D.C., Talk to Mee in the Car is where a brainstorm and a good old-fashioned brain dump collide to help educators hone their skills and become leaner, meaner, 21st century teaching machines. Join me for a quick hitting 11(ish) minute episode every Monday for tips, tricks, and strategies to change the game in your classroom TODAY with high-energy, student-centered teaching that actually works.

Because one size fits all professional development simply doesn’t.
